| Are
you on a journey to true financial freedom? |
 |
Did
you know that, with the exception of love, Jesus teaches more about one
topic than any other in the New Testament? Is it sin? No. Is it salvation?
No. Christ teaches more about money than any subject other than love. Nearly
two-thirds of all of Christ’s parables deal with money and how to
handle it. |
|
Journey
to Financial Freedom is a one day seminar that helps the student
to gain a solid overview of Biblical principles. See the Financial Freedom
tab for further information.
Crown Ministries’ Biblical Financial Study
changes lives. This study is not a money management study in the ordinary
sense. The Biblical Financial Study leads those who participate to a closer
fellowship with Christ as they examine His principles concerning finances.
It can set participants on the path to true financial freedom. The format
is a ten week small group format where eight to ten persons come together
for this in-depth study. See the corresponding tab for further information.
Money Map Coaches Ready to Help
For free, private, personal help in learning how to set up and live by a
budget, contact a Money Map coach: MoneyMap@ccatg.org, or 485-1611, ext.
4 (leave a voicemail). Money Map coaches are volunteers trained to help
individuals or families see their financial situation clearly. Coaches will
meet with clients as many as five times. For each session, coaches review
“homework” the clients have prepared, and they work together
to develop a realistic budget for the clients.

Christian
families suffer more from the mishandling of finances than from any other
single problem. Why? Because of a lack of understanding about God’s
principles of finance.
Some of the questions we will deal with are:
• What does God’s Word say about handling money?
• What are the financial traps to avoid?
• What is financial freedom?
• How can we develop a plan to ensure there’s enough money at
the end of the month?
Christ’s Church at Georgetown has responded by offering three avenues
to help you on your journey to true financial freedom.

Do any of the statements below describe your finances?
* At our house there is too much month at the end of the money.
* We find ourselves living paycheck to paycheck, with no “cushion.”
* Our personal debt includes credit cards, auto, home, and other loans.
* We’ve set up budgets before, but something always blows them.
* We do not tithe; sometimes we can’t even give anything to the church.
* I wish we could talk to someone and get some help with finances.
If you checked any of the above statements, you may need the help of a Money Map* coach. A Money Map coach is a rigorously-trained volunteer who will work one-on-one with an individual or family struggling with finances. They serve as an accountability partner and an encourager, providing the counsel that God’s Word teaches concerning wise money management.
Money Map coaches do not “take over” a family’s finances, nor do they make decisions for the ones being coached (the participants). Success depends on the participants’ willingness to allow God to bring about change in their life and trust Him for provision. Money Map coaches do help participants see their situation clearly and prepare workable budgets. They also pray for the participants, asking for God’s provision for their needs.

Money Map coaches will meet with participants as many as five times. For each session, participants must complete “homework” including a Bible study, keeping records of spending, and preparing a budget. The sessions include an in-depth review of the participants’ assets, debts, spending habits, and more. All of this is done in strict confidence and at no cost to the participants.
In the first session, participants will be asked to sign a commitment to add no more debt to their lives, study God’s Word for direction, honor Him first in their finances, live on a budget, and faithfully keep appoint-ments. Coaches also sign the form, indicating their commitment to the process as well.
Those who want help with their personal finances can call 485-1611, ext. 41, or email MoneyMap@CCATG.org. Your request for help will be forwarded automatically and privately. A Money Map coach will then contact you within a few days to set up an initial meeting, so you can take the first steps of your journey on the road to true financial freedom.
